2022 BWPC DAWNY TO COCKATOO OCEAN SWIM

20 NOVEMBER 2022

Sunday 20 November 2022

The Dawny to Cockatoo Challenge is a chance to dive into Sydney's history.

Swims leave from the Dawn Fraser Pool at Balmain to (1.1km) or around (2.4km) Cockatoo Island and back, depending on the distance you choose.

Swim Courses

The 2.4km course in Dawny to Cockatoo swim takes you from the Dawn Fraser Pool at Balmain in a north easternly direction to a buoy located on the south-eastern side of Cockatoo Island. The swim continues in an anti-clockwise direction along the south side of the island to a buoy located at the south westerly point of the island. The swim then continues south to a buoy located just off snapper island before returning to the Fitzroy Avenue jetty. This year the swim will not go around the Island.

The shorter 1.1km course takes you inside and close to Cockatoo Island following an anti-clockwise course around a course set by buoys, and back.

Both swims start within a few minutes of each other so they can avoid the ferry schedule to Cockatoo Island, so unfortunately it's not possible to do both swims on the day.
